Description of key information

Isodecyl benzoate is a non-polar narcotic, therefore, the application of EqP Theory is appropriate.  In addition, plants are generally less sensitive than other terrestrial animal species (Sverdrup, et.al., 2002).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The feasibility of performing a toxicity study with terrestrial plants has some practical difficulties associated with it due to the rapid biodegradability of isodecyl benzoate. Isodecyl benzoate is a non-polar narcotic, therefore, the application of EqP Theory is appropriate.  In addition, plants are generally less sensitive than other terrestrial animal species (Sverdrup, et.al., 2002).
