Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects occur within the range of solubility. The test substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance on Desmodesmus subspicatus was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD guideline 201. After 72 h an EC 50 (growth rate) >10.3 mg/L (measured) was determined (CURRENTA 2009) which complies with the highest measured test concentration under exposure conditions and is above the water solubility of the test substance. Thus, no effects in the range of the water solubility could be detected and the test substance can therefore be considered as not harmful to algae.
