First-aid measures

General informations: First aider: Pay attention to self-protection!

In case of eye contact: After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an opthalmologist immediately.

Skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation occurs or persists, get medical attention. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. In any case seek medical advice and call the nearest poison centre.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: All common extinguishing media are suitable. Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, foam.

Special fire-fighting procedures: NIOSH approved positive pressure. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective turnout gear.

Unusual fire and explosions hazards: Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.

Other information: May produce toxic fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide. The composition of the combustion products have not been determined.

Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater.

Accidental release measures

Person-related precautionary measures: Evacuate area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, chemical safety goggles, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves. Wear disposable coveralls and discard them after use.

Environmental-protection measures: Do not allow to enter sewerage system.Procedures for cleaning / absorption:Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Cover with dry lime or soda ash, pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.

Handling and storage

Advices on safe handling: All work processes must always be designed so that the following is as low as possible: Inhalation, Skin contact, Eye contact. Avoid generation of dust.

The substance will be registered under Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH) as a transported isolated intermediate, so that the conditions under Article 18(4) must be observed: use under strictly controlled conditions, use in a closed system.

Technical measures: Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations.

Precautions against fire and explosion: The product is combustible and dust explosive, dust explosion category: ST 1

Storage: Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Do not store at temperatures above 30 °C (86 °F).

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment:Protective clothing should be selected specifically for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances handled. The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the respective supplier.

Respiratory protection: Is required whenever air contamination (dust, mist, or vapors) is generated by the process. A NIOSH-approved high efficiency toxic dust/mist/fume respirator is recommended.

Eye protection: required

Hand protection: In full and splash contact:       Glove material: PVC, Butyl-/Nitrile rubber       Layer thickness: 0.11 mmThe protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374. This recommendation applies only to the product stated in the safe data sheet and supplied by us as well as to the purpose specified by us. When dissolving in or mixing with other substances and under conditions deviating from those stated in EN374 please contact the supplier of CE-approved gloves.Industrial hygiene:Immediately change contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. General room ventilation is adequate unless the process generates dust or fumes. Work clothing should be removed in a change room on site and laundered professionally. Employees should shower and change into street clothes before leaving the facility. Prevent the accumulation of dust in the work area by thorough periodic cleaning of the area.

Environmental exposure controls and protective equipment:

Water:  Do not release into water. If in waste water, waste water treatment is required. Air:  For industrial and professional uses air-filters may be required.

Soil:  Do not release into the soil.

Stability and reactivity

General Stability considerations: Stable at room temperature

Conditions to be avoided: Light and elevated temperature

Substances to be avoided: Oxidizing agents

Hazardous combustion or decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen  oxides

Further information: Hazardous polymerization does not occur.

Disposal considerations

Product: Dissolve or mix with combustible solvent and burn in an incinerator with afterburner and scrubber in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

Packaging: Disposal in compliance with official regulations. Handle contaminated packaging in the same way as the substance itself. If not officially specified differently, non-contaminated packaging may be treated like household waste or recycled.
