The objective of this study was to evaluate the toxicity of MEAHA-Fe on
alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. A range-finding test was
conducted to find the concentrations that cause algae growth inhibition.
Based on the results of the range-finding test, a definitive test was
carried out with the following concentrations of test substance: 0
(control); 0.32; 1; 3.2; 10; 32 and 100 mg/L. The test was incubated
during 72 hours inside chambers with controlled conditions of
luminosity, temperature, and agitation. The
72-hours EyC50 value was not determined, because the highest dose tested
(100 mg/L) caused 31% inhibition of algal growth, so that EyC50 72 hours
was greater than 100 mg/L. The 72 hr ErC50 and ErC10 values were not
determined because at the highest test concentration (100 mg/L) it
caused only 7% inhibition of algal growth, so the ErC50 and ErC10 72
hours were higher than 100 mg/L. The highest test substance
concentration which no observed significant adverse effect (NOEC) on
algal growth was 10 mg/L and the lowest test substance concentration at
which was observed significant reducing effect on growth (LOEC) was 32

exposed to MEAHA-Fe was not determined because the highest tested
