Phototransformation in air

After evaporation or exposure to the atmosphere, the substance is expected to photodegrade rapidly by reaction with OH-radicals with a half-life of 5.1 hours (24 -h day, 500000 OH/cm3; EPIWin, AOP v1.92; BASF, 2014).

Hydrolysis

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the study does not need to be performed if the substance is readily biodegradable or inorganic. Propylenediamine is readily biodegradable; therefore a study is not required. Further, according to Kollig et al. (1993), Boethling & Mackay (2000), hydrolysis is not expected to be a relevant degradation process due to the absence of hydrolysable groups.
