Description of key information

Under the conditions of the present study, the test item did not induce biologically relevant immobilization of Daphnia magna at and below 18 mg/l after 24 hours of exposure (NOEC) with a 24h-EC50 of 33.4 mg/l (95% confidence interval between 26.2 and 43.8 mg/l)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Daphnia were exposed for 24 hours to a concentration range of 3.2 to 100 mg/l forming a geometric progression with a factor of 1.8. The test was performed in duplicate with 10 daphnia per vessel.

After 24 hours of exposure the total rate of immobil ization of daphnia was 90% at 100 mg/l, 85% at 56 mg/l, 60% at 32 mg/l and 10% at 10 mg/l. At concentrations of 18 mg/l and 5.6 mg/l and lower no immobilization of daphnia was seen.

The 24h-EC50 was 33.4 mg/l with 95% confidence interval ranging from 26.2 to 43.8 mg/l (slope = 6 0)

Finally, the No Observed Effect Concentration for the test item with respect to mobility of Daphnia magna was found to be 18 mg/l after 24 hours of exposure.
