Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

Key data: Biodegradation of 83% (oxygen consumption) within 28 days was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol (OECD Guideline 301C), and in compliance with GLP.

Biodegradation of 83% was measured by biological oxygen demand (BOD) in a 28 day study conducted according to OECD 301C and in compliance with GLP. Abiotic (primary) degradation of 30% was measured by HPLC, and the degradants (hydrolysis products) identified as acetophenone and acetic acid. Both degradants are readily biodegradable. Biodegradation of 98% was measured by dissolved organic carbon (DOC) analysis.
