Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Data for the definitive conclusion on the PBT or vPvB properties according to the criteria set in Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XIII, parts 1 and 2, are not available for all three criteria. Thus, the screening criteria given in the ‘Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - Chapter R.11: PBT assessment’ (ECHA, 2008) are used as surrogate information to decide whether the substance may potentially fulfil the PBT or vPvB criteria.

Data for structurally related analogue substances were partly used for the assessment of PBT properties (Analogue justification see 6.1).

Based on its ready biodegradability, the substance is not expected to be persistent in the environment, and therefore does not meet the P criterion.

Based on its ready biodegradability and very low log Kow of -1.85, the substance is considered to have a low bioaccumulation potential and therefore does not meet the Bioaccumulative (B) or very Bioaccumulative (vB) criterion.

Effect values in aquatic short-term toxicity tests and long-term toxicity tests were determined to be > 0.1 mg/L and > 0.01 mg/L, respectively. The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction nor is there any evidence of chronic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP), Regulation (EU) No. 286/2011 (2nd ATP) and Directive 67/548/EEC. Therefore, the substance does not meet the T criterion.
