Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adsorption/desorption on soil or sediment:

A log Koc of 3.36 was determined for DCT mixture according to OECD 121 (Reference: Neuland, 2010), indicating that DCT mixture is slightly mobile in soil.

Henry´s Law Constant:

The Henry´s Law Constant was calculated with EUSES on the basis of experimental values for the water solubility and vapour pressure of the dichloromethylbenzene mixture to be 876 Pa m3/mol at 25°C and 420 Pa m3/mol at 12 °C.

Volatilisation from water:

The following half-lives for volatilisation from water were calculated:

- 1.5 hours (model river) and 5.1 days (model lake) for 2,4 -, 2,5 - , 2,3 - and 2,6-DCT with EPIWIN v.3.2 (by Group SAR method on the basis of the Henry’s Law constant)

- 1.6 hours (model river) and 5.2 days (model lake) for 3,4-DCT from the Henry´s experimental database

Octanol-air partitioning coefficient:

The following log octanol-air partition coefficients (logKoa) were calculated with KOAWIN v.1.10 for 25°C:

- 2,4-dichlorotoluene: 5.115

- 2,5-dichlorotoluene: 4.845

- 2,3-dichlorotoluene: 4.835

- 3,4-dichlorotoluene: 4.929

- 2,6-dichlorotoluene: 4.865
