Additional information

Experimental data on the biodegradation in soil of Amines polyethylenepoly (PEPA) are not available. Based on the screening tests on biodegradability (5.2.1) it is expected that PEPA is not biodegraded. Co-metabolic degradation may however occur in soils. In accordance with Annex IX, column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, biodegradation tests in soil do not need to be conducted as the Chemical Safety Assessment does not indicate a need for further investigations. According to Annex XI, Section 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 biodegradation testing in soil is deemed not necessary. The environmental exposure assessment for PEPA (CAS 68131-73-7) indicates no risk for the terrestrial compartment (all RCR< 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information).
