Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The data requirements with regard to REACH legislation, annex VII – X, are fulfilled.

According to internationally accepted criteria as outlined in the TGD (ECHA guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, PART R.10, p19) and with regard to the studies described above, long-term results of two trophic levels are represented. There is no major deviation (factor 2) in the magnitude of the acute aquatic toxicity between fish, daphnids and algae therefore not justifying the determination of a most sensitive species.

PNECs for sediment and soil have been calculated with the equilibrium partitioning method using EUSES 2.1.

The following data have been taken into account for the calculation:

Molecular weight [g/mol]

85.1

Melting point [°C]

110

Boiling point [°C]

Vapour pressure [hPa], 20°C

Conclusion on classification

With regard to the environmental data presented on biodegradation and acute as well as chronic aquatic toxicity methacrylamide has not to be classified as hazardous to the environment acc. EU Regulation Nr. 1272/2008 (CLP-Regulation)
