The calibration factor is determined by measuring the Surface Tension of water and comparing the value obtained in literature. The corrected value is taken from a table compiled on the basis of the Harkins-Jordan correction.

Additional information

The surface tension of the substance was measured in a test conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A5 (ring method) under GLP [Younis S (2010)]. Due to the high solubility of the substance, a concentration of 1 g/L was used. Measurements were made in duplicate. The derived value for surface tension was 34.1 mN/m at 20 °C.
