After a duration of 48 hours an EC0 of 95 mg/L, EC50 of 163 mg/L, and EC100 of 260 mg/L, based on not neutralized test material concentrations, were reported. An LC50 of 702 mg/L is also given, based on neutralized test material concentration. The basis for effect was the mobility of the animals.

In 1989, Kuehn R. et.al. published a study for the short - term toxicity of Daphnia magna to monomethylamine. The experiment was performed in accordance to DIN 38412, part 11. In a static test with freshwater the following results were shown:

EC0 of 95 mg/L, EC50 of 163 mg/L, and EC100 of 260 mg/L, based on not neutralized test material concentrations. An LC50 of 702 mg/L is also given, based on neutralized test material concentration. The basis for effect was the mobility of the animals.

For short - term toxicity a reliable handbook data is available were a result of EC50 = 480 mg/L is given for Daphnia magna. Unfortunately, no exposure time is included. However, it is a reliable handbook data.
