Additional information

According to REACH, Annex VIII, no studies concerning bioaccumulation in aquatic species (preferably fish) need to be conducted. However, taking into account the measured logKow of monomethylamine was -0.713 and a scientifically exepted calculation method which was used to estimate the bioconcentration factor (BCF), which resulted in a value of 3.16 L/kg wet weight (Chemservice S.A., 2010), is is clear that no bioaccumulation is expected.

The bioaccumulation for the terrestrial compartment is not mandatory under REACH. However, also in terrestrial organisms no accumulation of monomethylamine has to be expected.
