Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The estimated adsorption Koc (KOCWIN v2.00) value of 66.4 L/kg, predicted using a measured partition coefficient value of 2.1, indicates that 1-bromopropaneis notstrongly adsorbed to soil particles and is likely to be relatively mobile in soil. No data is available nor required for volatilisation, however the vapour pressure (14.8 kPa) indicates that the substance is highly volatile. The water solubility of 2450 mg/l indicates that 1-bromopropane is readily water soluble. The Henry’s law Constant (calculated from water solubility and vapour pressure, EUSES version 2.1) and theLevel III Fugacity model (EPISUITE)indicate that 1-bromopropane is likely to partition fairly equally between water and air phases. The predicted Koc (66.4) and measured log Kow (2.1) indicate that once in a water/sediment system, 1-bromopropane will preferentially partition to water and that the substance is likely to be mobile in soil.
