Dermal absorption was studied in male rats receiving 50 ul
of a 2000 ppm solution of 14C HPMA in engine oil. Exposure
time was 8 hours.
Result:
Total recovery of 14C: 81 %. 56 % evaporated from the dosing
site. The amount absorbed was determined to be 29 % of the
radioactivity. Radioactivity was observed in the skin (7 %),
carcass (2 %), urine (1 %), faeces (< 1 %) and as volatile
organics (< 1 %).
