Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on the estimated pKa-range (4.2- 5.0) under environmental conditions (pH 5 - 9) this substance is mainly present in undissociated form (Currenta, 2010).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to QSAR estimation, this substance does not have a significant dissociation at pH 5 - 9, and hence this estimate can be used for chemical safety assessment. On the other hand TMQ is mostly insoluble and it is scientifically very difficult to perform a test due to the lack of sensitive analytical method.
