Additional information

In a monitoring program of RIC (2011) 4 sediment samples and 30 biota samples (mainly fish), collected in The Netherlands, were analyzed for four plasticizers. In none of the samples DPHP was detected in concentrations above 100 ng/g fat. In addition, in none of the sediment samples DPHP was detected above 5 µg/kg dry weight. These findings are supported by the results of another Dutch monitoring program (Lampi et al., SETAC 2010). In this program air, sediment, soil and vegetation samples were analysed for the concentrations of several phthalate esters. DPHP was detected at a single, industrialized site only in 1 out of 26 sediment samples and 2 out of 49 vegetation samples. DPHP was not detected in any other samples outside of this one industrialized site.
