Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

It can be stated from the short term testing result that Castor oil sulphated sodium salt is a conservative representative for the fish oil derivative and it will be taken as a reference. The result of the long term study on daphnia is here reported.

The test item was tested in reproduction test on Daphnia magna. The test was performed according OECD Test Guideline No. 211 -Daphnia magna Reproduction Test. Adopted: October 2, 2012.

Since the test item is a multi-component item the water-accommodated fractions (WAFs) were prepared by adding measured amounts of the test item to the M4 medium and then were stirred for a period of 15 minutes. The preliminary test was performed in a range of the test item loading rates 1 – 10 mg·L-1(loading rate). The test was performed as semi-static, frequency of the test solutions renewal was three times a week. The calculated reduction in reproductive output was 0 % in the highest loading rate, the exact values of EL50could not be calculated on the basis of data acquired. Test result is given in the form of a range. In congruence with study plan, when the assumed value of EL50is higher than 10 mg·L-1, no further testing is needed and the result obtained in preliminary test presents the result of whole study. The experiment with the concentration of 10 mg·L-1included in the preliminary test has been performed using ten replicates for both the treatment and the control groups, therethrough the conditions of the limit testgiven in guidelinehave been fulfilled.

The analysis for concentration control of the test item was performed by TOC method. For all evaluations and results the loading rates of the test item were used.Under the experimental conditions the EL50, 21d, repro > 10 mg/l (nominal concentration).

For the Chemical safety assessment a value of 10 mg/l is used for calculations
