Conclusions:
The auto-ignition temperature of 4-tert-butylpyrocatechol is 435°C at 996 hPa.
Executive summary:

In a study (CRTL, 2009), the auto-ignition temperature of 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol was determined according to the regulation (EC) n°440/2008, A.15.

Samples were injected by means of a volumetric syringe to assure a rapid injection. The time lag between injection and ignition was measured for all tests up to 5 minutes.

The auto-ignition temperature of 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol was 435°C at 996 hPa.

This study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for a auto-ignition temperature study.

Description of key information

Self-ignition temperature: 435°C at 996 - 1000 hPa

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
435 °C

Additional information

One experimental study (CRTL, 2009) with reliability 1 according to Klimisch was available and was selected as key study. Auto-ignition temperature was determined according to the regulation (EC) n°440/2008, A.15.

Samples were injected by means of a volumetric syringe to assure a rapid injection. The time lag between injection and ignition was measured for all tests up to 5 minutes.

The auto-ignition temperature of 4 -tert-butylpyrocatechol was 435°C.
