Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Experimental data on toxicity to soil organisms of two different trophic levels are available, which allow to conclude on long-term effects: Chronic toxicity to earthworms (OECD 222) and toxicity to soil microorganisms (OECD 216). In the long-term toxicity test with earthworms, adverse effects were observed resulting in an active ingredient recalculated 56d-EC10 value of 199.6 mg/kg soil dw based on 5% organic carbon content in soil. The toxicity test with soil microorganisms did not show effects in tested range of up to 1000 mg test substance /kg soil dw and 275.7 mg O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate/kg soil dw, respectively. Since the test substance is adsorptive and poorly water soluble, uptake by plants is expected to be negligible and testing is not deemed necessary.

The results indicate a low toxicity of O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothiate to terrestrial toxicity. The worst case EC10 of 199.6 mg/kg soil dw is considered to be a very conservative value for an environmental risk assessment.
