Description of key information

A static acute toxicity test with unicellular green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was performed in year 2012 according to OECD Guideline 201 and GLP. No microscopic abnormalities of the cells were detected. After 72 hours of exposure to LZ649, the EyC50 was 60.1 mg/L. The ErC50 could not be calculated but must be greater than 69.2mg/L. Based on measured concentrations the “no observed effect concentration” (NOEC) for growth rate and yield were 11.1 mg/L. Based on measured concentrations the “lowest observed effect concentration” (LOEC) for growth rate and yield were 69.2 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
69.2 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
11.1 mg/L
