Description of key information

The boiling point of N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone is 306.5 degrees centigrade

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
306.5 °C

Additional information

Two sources have been provided from ECHA in the form of migrated NONS files. These show the boiling to be 306.5 degrees centigrade in one case and in the range of 292 to 305 degrees centigrade in the other. The value of 306.5 degrees centigrade has been taken as the more accurate value due to problems with the experiment stated in the migrated NONS file for the the other experiment.

It is concluded that the boiling point of N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone is 306.5 degrees centigrade at 101.3 kPa.
