Description of key information

The flash point of N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone is 113 degrees centigrade.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
113 °C

Additional information

Two studies are used from the migrated NONS file provided by ECHA. One finds the flash point to be 142 degrees centigrade using a closed cup method. The other finds the flash point to be 113 degrees centigrade, also using the closed cup method. Neither value would trigger the need for classification, however for the purpose of the chemical safety assessment endpoint the worst case value of 113 degrees centigrade is taken.
