Description of key information

A study was performed to assess the adverse effects of the test item on the growth rate of the planktonic freshwater algal species Desmodesmus subspicatus over several generations in accordance with OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 201 'Alga, Growth Inhibition Test' (2006).
Analysis of the growth rate of the algal population within the 72 h exposure period gave an EC50 of > 100 mg/L and NOEC of ≥ 100 mg/L. The result relates to nominal concentration as analytical monitoring shows stability of the test substance during the experiment (CURRENTA, 2009).
