Description of key information

The bioaccumulation factor of the two representative structures of the substance was estimated to be 3.16 using the BCFBAF model included in the EPI-Suite Programm concluding that the substance has a low potential to bioaccumulate in biota (Currenta, 2017).

Additional information

Measured bioconcentration factors (BCF) obtained in bioaccumulation studies for the substance are not available. However, from the octanol-water partition coefficient a bioconcentration factor can be calculated with the BCFBAF-Program.As the substance is an UVCB substance 2-[2-(2-hydroxypropoxy)ethoxy]ethyl 2-hydroxypropyl phthalate and 1-O-{2-[(2-hydroxypropoxy)carbonyl]benzoyl}-6-O-(2-hydroxypropyl)hexitol were used as representative substances for the calculation.

Within the scope of the Persistency-Bioaccumulation-Toxicity (PBT)-Assessment, the substance does not fulfill the B-criterion. The substance falls within the applicability domain described above and, therefore, the predicted value can be considered reliable.
