Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A 96 h study was conducted for Sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate on Danio rerio, at a test concentration of 12.5mg/L, 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L, 75 mg/L & 100 mg/L. Based on nominal concentrations, the median lethal concentration LC50 (96 h) for Sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate on Danio rerio was found to be 25 mg/L. But the BCF value of Sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate reported was not >= 2000 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable. Thus, considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate does not exhibit short term toxicity to fish [Danio rerio].

By applying weight of evidence approach to the studies summarized in the above table it can be observed that the LC50 values was found to be in range of 25 to 102.59mg/l in 96 hrs and 48 hrs on the basis of mortality effect . But the BCF value ofSodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphatereported was not >= 2000 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable. Thus considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that Sodium 2-(2-dodecyloxyethoxy) ethyl sulphate does not exhibit short term toxicity to fish (Oryzias latipes,Danio rerio)
