Description of key information

No toxicity tests are available for Di-n-butyl ether (DnBE) exposed to terrestrial arthropods.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No terrestrial toxicity tests are available for di-n-butyl ether (DnBE). Di-n-butyl ether (DnBE) has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The risk assessment shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio is < 1 in surface water, indicating no need for further information or testing. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. Hence, toxicity testing of terrestrial arthropods can be waived for DnBE.
