Description of key information

No long-term toxcity tests were available for aquatic invertebrates exposed to DnBE.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Di-n-butyl ether (DnBE) has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The risk assessment shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio is < 1 in surface water, indicating no need for further information or testing. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. Hence, long-term testing in aquatic invertebrates can be waived for DnBE.
