Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Cerificate of Analysis
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The sample is analysed under nitrogen by DSC.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Melting / freezing pt.:
-98 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 013 hPa
Remarks on result:
other: glass transition (average value of two measurements)

The substance does not have a melting point, however it has a glass transition.

Glass transition is determined at 20 °C/min. Midpoint is taken for glass transition. Midpoint is defined as the middle of the step. The accuracy of the evaluation of the glass transition is dependent of the baseline and the type of product.

Description of key information

Glass transition: -98 °C at ca. 1013 hPa (Differential Scanning calorimetry)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance does not have a melting point, however it has a glass transition.

There are no values given for pressure but assumed to be measured at normal pressure (1013 hPa).
