Description of key information

Based on flash point determination according to EU Method A.9 the substance was not considered to be flammable as such.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

For liquids the primary value for assessing the ease of ignition is the flash point conducted in accordance with Method A9 of Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 (see IUCLID section 4.11). The result of the flash point test is used to allocate a liquid substance into the appropriate flammability class. The flash point of the substance was determined to be at 120 °C.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the study result of the flash point study, the molecular structure and the experience in handling and use, the substance has not to be classified and labelled as flammable, flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric and self-heating substance according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP)
