Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In two tests, the acute toxicity of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT)  for Daphnia magna was determined. No effects have been observed (48h-EC50 > 100 mg/L, nominal) (Weyers, 2006b).

In another test at the highest concentration mortality was 20% and significantly different from controls, but lower than 50%. Therefore it can be concluded that the EC50 value for acute effects on daphnia for MWCNT is higher than 100 mg/l (Weltens, 2010a).

Test material is meeting the form as described in section 4.5 of the IUCLID dossier.
