- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 29 Jul 2016 - 12 Oct 2016
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
- Version / remarks:
- 1995
- Deviations:
- yes
- Remarks:
- Due to a high hydrosolubility, the quantity of test item weighed was not 0.1 g as in the guideline but about 1.0 g and about 7.85 g to confirm the hydrosolubility. This was not considered to have affected the quality/interpretation of the results
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
- Version / remarks:

- Remarks on result:
- completely miscible
- Conclusions:
- The solubility in water of the test item was found to be in a range [0.314 g/mL ; 0.334 g/mL] and the mean pH value was measured at 3.42 at 20.9 °C.
- Executive summary:
The objective of the study was to determine the water solubility of the test item, according to the OECD 105 guideline and EC A6 method and under GLP conditions.
The solubility in water of the test item was found to be between 314 and 334 g/L and the mean pH value was measured at 3.42 at 20.9 °C.

Description of key information
Based on the experimental data available on the dry reaction mass of potassium trifluoroacetate and potassium trifluoromethanesulphinate (as a powder form), the water solubility was found to be between 314 and 334 g/L (with a pH of 3.42 and at 20.9°C).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Water solubility:
- 314 g/L
- at the temperature of:
- 20.9 °C
Additional information
A study was conducted according to the OECD 105 guideline (and EC A6 method and under GLP conditions) to evaluate the water solubility of the Reaction mass of potassium trifluoroacetate and potassium trifluoromethanesulphinate. The solubility in water was found to be between 314 and 334 g/L at 20.9°C (with a mean pH value measured at 3.42).
