First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
If inhaled: Removed to fresh air. Give oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of skin contact: Wash with warm water and soap
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If swallowed: Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment: The first aid procedure should be established in consultation with the doctor responsible for industrial medicine

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), dry powder, foam, water mist
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray

Special hazards arising from the substance
Burning produces irritant fumes. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Advice for fire fighters
Special protective equipment for fire fighters: In the event of a fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment

Further information
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Keep in properly labelled
containers. Dispose of rinse water as waste water.

Environmental precautions: Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system

Methods and material for containment and clean up
Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid creating dust. May form explosive dust-air mixture. Remove all sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharge.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Avoid dust formation. Fine dust disperse in air may ignite. Take measures to prevent the build-up of
electrostatic discharge.

Hygiene measures: Avoid breathing dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Fine dust dispersed in air may ignite. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of the work day. Keep away from food and drink. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a well ventilated place. Keep away from heat.

Specific end uses: Polymer stabilizer
