First-aid measures
- General advice:
Avoid direct contact; always wear PPE and RPE
Persons in direct contact with small or moderate quantities of this material should not be in any immediate danger. The procedures listed below should be followed. For larger exposures, the substances should be washed off with soap and water and medical assistance sought.
Symptoms of exposure can be reddening and soreness.
Product in Eyes Immediately flood eyes with plenty of low pressure water for at least 10 minutes, holding eye open. Remove contact lenses. Obtain medical assistance if redness develops or persists.
Product on Skin: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Obtain medical help if redness or irritation develops.Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse
Product Ingested: Wash out mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.
Product Inhaled: Remove from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain medical attention if breathing difficulty occurs.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media The product is not flammable. Use fire-extinguishing media suitable for the surrounding fire.
Unsuitable extinguishing media Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
Advice to fire-fighters:
Protective actions during firefighting Keep up-wind to avoid fumes. Control run-off water by
containing and keeping it out of sewers and watercourses.
Special protective equipment for firefighters
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Keep all unnecessary people away.
Fire water run-off must not be allowed to contaminate ground or enter drains, sewers or water courses.
Provide bunding against fire water run-off.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
Always wear PPE (full overalls; goggles and a face shield to protect from spray if large volumes spilled; chemically resitant gloves and sleeves if no overalls available). Wear gloves (tested to EN374) if direct hand contact with the substance is likely; wash off skin contamination immediately. Avoid splashes and spills. Avoidance of contact with contaminated tools and objects. Clean up contamination/spills as soon as they occur. Regular cleaning of equipment and work area.
Ensure suitable management/supervision is in place to check that the RMMs in place are being used correctly and OCs followed.
Train staff on good practice to prevent / minimise exposures and to report any skin problems that may develop.
Adopt good standards of personal skin hygiene. Where activities may lead to aerosol release e.g. spraying, then additional skin protection measures such as impervious suits and face shields may be required. Keep unnecessary people at distance.
- Environmental precautions:
Cover all drains and sewers. Avoid spreading spilled material. Avoid any release to waterways.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Absorb in vermiculite, sand, diatomaceous earth or other inert
absorbent material. Place into clearly labelled container for recovery or disposal (see section 13). Rinse site with copious
amounts of water, which should not be allowed into drains, sewers or water courses
Handling and storage
Store in tightly-closed, original container in a dry, cool and well ventilated place.
Avoid all possible sources of ignition (spark or flame). Avoid splashes and spills.
It is recommended that strict inventory control be observed and that oldest stock is used first.
Prevent spilling, skin and eye contact.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls: Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation.
Eye/face protection:
Eye wear complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates eye contact is possible.
The following protection should be worn: Dust-resistant,chemical splash goggles.
Hand protection:
Wear protective gloves. After using gloves the hands should be washed and thoroughly dried and a suitable moisturiser applied.
Hygiene measures: Provide eyewash station. Wash hands after contact. Wash hands at the end of each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Use appropriate skin cream to prevent drying of skin. Promptly remove any clothing that becomes contaminated. Launder clothing before re-use.
Respiratory protection:
If ventilation is inadequate, suitable respiratory protection must be worn.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: There are no known reactivity hazards associated with this product.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Will not polymerise
Conditions to avoid: Avoid excessive heat for prolonged periods of time.
Incompatible materials: Materials to avoid Strong acids. Strong alkalis.
The hazardous decomposition products: Protection against nuisance dust must be used when the airborne concentration exceeds 10 mg/m3.
Oxides of carbon. Oxides of nitrogen.
Disposal considerations

Disposal methods:
Dispose of waste to licensed disposal site in accordance with the requirements of the local Waste Disposal Authority. Product is classified as hazardous waste. Disposal of waste material and empty containers must be by means of a licensed waste contractor
