Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

BCF: 17.03 – 80.9 L/kg (BCFBAF v3.01)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the bioaccumulation of Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol) (CAS 49553-76-6) are available. According to Annex XI, 1.3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 BCF/BAF calculation using BCFBAF v3.01 for Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol) was conducted. All components were in the applicability domain of the model, indicating that the results are reliable and can be used to assess the bioaccumulation potential of Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol). The estimated BCF value indicates a low bioaccumulation potential in organisms (BCF: 80.9 L/kg, regression based). When including biotransformation rate constants a BCF and a BAF of 17.03 L/kg resulted (Arnot-Gobas estimate, including biotransformation, upper trophic). In conclusion, Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol) has a low potential for bioaccumulation, as the highest calculated BCF of 80.9 L/kg is clearly below 2000 L/kg, which is the trigger value according to PBT-criteria to classify substances as bioaccumulative (B-criterion) (ECHA Guidance R.11, 2008).
