Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Skin Contact

Possible redness and irritation of affected areas

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water removing all contaminated clothes and shoes.

Seek medical attention if irritation persists

Eye Contact

If substance has got into eyes, immediately wash out with plenty of water

Seek medical advice if any adverse effects persist.

Inhalation

In cases of severe exposure, breathing difficulty may develop

Remove patient to fresh air

Seek medical attention if irritation persists

Ingestion

In cases of severe exposure, burning sensation may develop

Do not induce vomiting

Give plenty of water to drink

When in doubt or symptoms persist, seek medical attention

General Advice

NOTE TO PHYSICIANS: Treat by observation and supportive measures as indicated by the patient's condition

See available toxicological information

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media

In case of fire use water, foam or dry agent

Do not use water jets

Decomposition

Decomposition products may include toxic and irritant fumes

Decomposition products may include carbon oxides

Fire fighting equipment / instructions

Keep container(s) exposed to fire cool, by spraying with water

High concentration of airborne dust may form explosive mixture with air.  Ensure that good housekeeping practices are followed as well as applicable guidelines such as the National Fire Protection Association [NFPA] 654, "Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids".

Vapours may be heavier than air and may travel along the ground to some distant source of ignition and flash back.

Wear Chemical Protection Suit and Positive-Pressure Breathing Apparatus

Explosion Sensitivity to Impact

No data available for this product

Accidental release measures

Environmental Precautions

Eliminate sources of ignition.

If contamination of drainage systems or water courses is unavoidable, immediately inform appropriate authorities

For large spills, wet down with water and dike for later disposal.

Personal Precautions

Wear protective clothing as per Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

use non-sparking handtools

Methods for Cleaning Up

Shut off all ignition sources

Contain spillage by any means possible

Collect as much as possible in clean container for reuse or disposal

Absorb spillage in suitable inert material

Handling and storage

Handling

Keep this product from heat, sparks, or open flame.

Ensure adequate ventilation

Material can accumulate static charges from material handling management.  Bond and ground as appropriate.  For additional recommendations, consult an applicable guideline such as National Fire Protection Association [NFPA] 77, "Recommended Practices on Static Electricity".

NOTE: The Lower Explosive Limit [LEL] for organic liquids can range from as low as 0.5 - 1 %.

Do not breathe vapour

Rotate stock using the oldest material first.

Use good personal hygiene practices

Storage

Keep in a cool, well ventilated place away from foodstuff

Bond and ground containers when transferring material.

Do not cut, weld, solder, drill, grind or expose containers to heat, flame, sparks, or other sources of ignition.

Empty product containers may contain product residue.  Do not reuse empty containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational exposure controls

If practicable, engineering controls should be provided where airborne concentrations exceed exposure limits

Ventilation should be sufficient to effectively remove, and prevent buildup of, any vapors, dusts, or fumes that may be generated

during handling or thermal processing.  In order to ensure appropriate electrial safety practices are followed, consult applicable

standards.  These may include guidelines such as the National Fire Protection Association [NFPA] 70, "The National Electrical Code"

and NFPA 499, "Recommended Practice for the Classification of Combustible Dusts and of Hazardous (Classified) Locations for

Electrical Installations in Chemical Process Areas".  NOTE: since this material's vapors, dust or fumes can form explosive mixtures

in air, ensure that any potential areas where explosions may occur are designed to minimize potential damage.  For

recommendations to prevent such explosions and associated damage, consult applicable guidelines such as National Fire Protection

Association [NFPA] 69, "Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems" and/or NFPA 68, "Guide for Venting Deflagrations".

Respiratory protection

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment

Hand protection

Nitrile or PVC coated gloves with an estimated breakthrough time of > 100 minutes are recommended.

Eye protection

Wear eye/face protection

If splashes are likely to occur, wear: a visor

Skin protection

Wear suitable protective equipment

Wear synthetic [rubber] safety footwear with anti-slip soles.

Stability and reactivity

Stability

Stable under normal conditions [e.g., 70 oF (21 oC) & 14.7 psig (760 mmHg)].

Conditions to avoid

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid

This material may react with: strong oxidizing agents

Disposal considerations

Disposal Instructions

Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation

Contaminated Packaging

This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste
