The Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) editor goes multilingual

An updated version of the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) editor to support biocidal product authorisations is now available in 23 EU languages as well as Norwegian. 

Helsinki, 6 July 2015 – The new version of the SPC editor brings several novelties.

The editor is now multilingual to allow companies to submit the SPC in the languages requested by the competent authorities. Furthermore, there is a built-in comparison tool that shows the differences between two SPCs; this is particularly useful when identifying the changes between two versions of a SPC or for Mutual recognitions and same biocidal products submissions.

Other new features include blocking the import of data from wrong SPC types, the possibility to edit the product name and the extension of the list of predefined values for the "Function" field for Substances of concern and Other substances (Perfumes, Pigments etc.).

Finally, to support the submission of mixtures or substances missing that information, the CAS and EC number fields are no longer mandatory in the Substance of concern and Other substances panels.
