Highlights from September BPC meeting
ECHA/NR/24/23
ECHA’s Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) adopted three opinions on Union authorisations.
Helsinki, 25 September 2024 – The BPC, in its September meeting, adopted the following opinions supporting Union authorisations for:
- biocidal product family containing Transfluthrin for product-type 18 (insecticides, acaricides and products to control other arthropods); and
- biocidal product family containing L-(+)-lactic acid for product-type 3 (veterinary hygiene).
The committee did not support a Union authorisation for:
- biocidal product family containing Chlorocresol for product-type 3.
The committee also agreed on several documents to assist the Member State authorities in evaluating Union authorisations renewals and to guide companies in preparing their renewal applications. The first application to renew an existing Union authorisation is expected to arrive to the Member States competent authorities by the end of 2024.
More information about the committee’s opinions is available in the annex.
The European Commission together with the EU Member States will take the final decisions based on BPC’s opinions.
