ECHA moving to new premises in 2020

ECHA/PR/17/19

ECHA has today signed a contract with Skanska concerning its future premises located at the former shipyard area in Punavuori, in the city centre of Helsinki. The Agency plans to move to the new address, Telakkakatu 6-8, at the start of 2020.

Helsinki, 4 December 2017 – ECHA’s Executive Director Geert Dancet and Tuomas Särkilahti, the CEO of Skanska Finland, have signed a leasing contract for ECHA’s new premises. In 2020, ECHA will occupy two buildings – one designed for new offices and the other for a conference centre. The buildings are part of a larger city development project in the area that will include office spaces and private apartments.

“I am happy to have signed the contract for ECHA’s new premises. This new contract fulfils all of the requirements set by ECHA’s Management Board, as the buildings are located in central Helsinki, offer a flexible office space and conference centre, and meet high environmental standards. I am sure that the new premises will permit modern ways of working, motivate staff and further enhance ECHA’s work,” says Geert Dancet.

The premises will be located within a 10-minute walking distance of the European School of Helsinki and there will be direct public transportation to the railway station.
