Registration numbers have been granted for 20 175 of the 20 723 dossiers that were submitted by the first registration deadline, resulting in a total of 3 483 phase-in substances being registered under REACH. Dissemination of information from these dossiers has been accelerated.

Helsinki, 07 March 2011 - ECHA has a duty to undertake a completeness check for each REACH registration dossier in order to check that all required elements have been provided. According to the REACH Regulation, ECHA had three months to perform completeness checks on all registrations for phase-in substances submitted in the last two months before the first registration deadline. In those two months, 15 366 dossiers relevant to the deadline were submitted. The three-month period ended on 28 February and ECHA has managed to undertake the completeness check for all dossiers submitted by the first registration deadline.

So far, 20 175 positive decisions and 26 rejection letters have been sent related to the deadline. The remaining dossiers are waiting for further information requested from the company and/or awaiting payment. Altogether, since 1 June 2008, ECHA has given positive decisions for 26 185 registration dossiers representing 4 725 substances which includes both phase-in and non phase-in substances.

ECHA will this year disseminate information contained in the registration dossiers on all registered phase-in substances. In the coming two months information from the dossiers of the lead and individual registrants will be published. Information from the dossiers of other SIEF members will follow in the coming months. This information is publicly available on ECHA's website.
