Your opinion counts!

ECHA-term invites everybody to consult the database and experience its new look and feel. We also encourage you to fill in the user survey at the link provided. Your suggestions and ideas will be taken into account when we further develop the database and expand its content. For more than a year, the database has been providing key REACH and CLP terms in 22 EU languages to thousands of active users in more than 30 countries. The database facilitates the consistent translation of ECHA documents and helps industry and authorities to deal with the regulatory terminology in several languages. The survey is available in 22 official EU languages.

Public consultation on inclusion of new substances in the Authorisation List

ECHA launches a public consultation on its draft recommendation of ten new priority substances to be included in the Authorisation List. The deadline for interested parties to submit comments is 19 September 2012.

ECHA initiates a six-month public consultation on the proposed restriction of 1,4-dichlorobenzene in air fresheners and toilet blocks

At the request of the European Commission, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has submitted a report proposing a restriction on the placing on the market and use of 1,4-dichlorobenzene-based air fresheners and toilet blocks. These products are mainly used to deodorise public and domestic toilets.

Candidate List updated with thirteen new Substances of Very High Concern

ECHA has added thirteen new Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) to the Candidate List. All substances included are classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction.

Proposal to restrict four classified phthalates under REACH not justified

The Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) has adopted by consensus its opinion concluding that the proposed restriction of four classified phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, and DIBP) in articles is not justified.
