New version of REACH-IT clarifies communication between ECHA and companies

The new version of REACH-IT (2.7), now ready for use, introduces new terms and conditions that clarify how companies receive decisions and other communications from ECHA. In addition, the update now allows the submission of applications for authorisation through REACH-IT. At the same time, a new version of IUCLID launched.

ECHA's scientific committees give green-light on a specific use of dibutyl phthalate (DBP)

ECHA's scientific committees for Risk Assessment and Socio-economic Analysis have adopted opinions on an application for authorisation from Sasol-Huntsman GmbH & Co. This application concerned the use of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as an absorption solvent in a closed system in the manufacture of maleic anhydride.

The committees concluded that adequate control has been demonstrated and proposed to review the authorisation in 12 years. The European Commission will make the final decision on the application, based on ECHA's opinions.

The workshop aims to address the challenges faced by companies (in particular SMEs) to comply with the new rules for classification, labelling and packaging of mixtures introduced by the CLP Regulation by June 2015.

Stakeholders are invited to participate and contribute to the discussions: industry associations, business support organisations, trade unions, consumer associations, competent authorities and the national CLP helpdesks, as well as all other organisations whose members need to know about and/or comply with the CLP Regulation.
