Registration numbers have been granted to 9 030 dossiers that were submitted by the second REACH registration deadline on 31 May 2013. This corresponds to 2 998 more substances being registered under REACH.

New public consultation launched on two harmonised classification and labelling proposals

Parties concerned are invited to comment on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal on the pesticide flumioxazin and on the industrial chemical propylene oxide. Both substances have already a harmonised entry in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation. For flumioxazin changes are proposed to the health and environmental classification, and for propylene oxide, the proposal focuses on changes to the health classification. Flumioxazin is currently being assessed by EFSA under Regulation (EC) N. 1141/2010 laying down the procedure for the renewal of the approval of active substances in plant protection products.
The public consultation opened on 06 September 2013, and the deadline for submitting comments is 21 October 2013.

REACH SMEs Workshop

Brussels, 10-11 December 2013

Are you one of the many small, medium and micro-sized enterprises involved in the upcoming 2018 REACH registration deadline? Are you working to deliver REACH-related services to SMEs or representing these companies at EU level? Do you represent a trade sector and would you like to contribute? The European Commission and ECHA are aware of the challenges ahead and would like to hear your voice.

Together with ECHA, the Commission organises a workhop in Brussels from 10 to 11 December to offer an opportunity for SMEs to exchange and discuss with other REACH actors.

Due to the limited capacity of the room, only 50 participants will be selected to attend the workshop. Fill in the short survey by 18 October indicating your willingness to participate and what kind of topics you would like to be covered. The selection of participants aims to ensure a fair representation of stakeholders. Travel expenses and accommodation of SME participants will be reimbursed.
