Summary
When a substance is manufactured or imported by more than one company, these companies are required to submit certain information together in a so called joint submission. Registrants of the same substance need to share information about this substance in the "Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF)". For a general explanation on the registration procedure in a joint submission please click on the SIEF/Registration section of the website. For a thorough description of the SIEFs, please refer to the SIEF section of the website. The critical information on how to submit a joint submission is outlined below.
The participants of a joint submission are the lead registrant and the member registrant(s). The submission of the lead registrant dossier (which includes the joint information needed for registering) needs to be successfully carried out before the other registrants can submit their registrations. More precisely, the other registrants can submit their dossiers only once the lead registrant dossier has been accepted for processing (i.e the dossier passes the business rules verification step).
ECHA will send the registration number to the lead registrant once the lead dossier is considered complete, i.e. once ECHA has verified the completeness of the information and confirmed the payment of the relevant registration fee. A member registrant will receive the registration number once the member dossier is regarded as complete by ECHA and the lead dossier is also considered complete.
