REACH guidance documents provide supplementary information to the legal text. They cover all technical aspects of REACH. These documents have been produced with the assistance and endorsement of the Member States authorities, the European Commission and industry. Therefore companies should use the guidance documents as the primary source of information when they need advice on how to fulfil their REACH duties.

Guidance Fact Sheets

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will issue a series of Fact Sheets. The Fact Sheets provide a structured overview of REACH guidance documents published by the Agency, which includes a summary of the key aspects, bibliographic information and other references. These documents will be available in the 22 official languages of the European Union.

Restriction

Restrictions under REACH can be used to regulate the manufacturing, placing on the market, or use of certain substances if they pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. This section describes the restriction process under REACH and presents the restrictions currently in force.

Socio-economic analysis in REACH

Socio-economic analysis (SEA) plays a vital role in ECHA. The Socio-Economic Analysis Committee and the Risk Assessment Committee form opinions, in order to assist the European Commission in its decision making.

The Agency helpdesk assists companies with questions relating to their registrations of chemical substances. Each Member State provides REACH helpdesk services to all interested parties in their country. These helpdesks are operating in a network that will harmonise the answers to ensure consistent support to companies across Europe. IUCLID helpdesk assists registered users of the software.
