This downloadable list is a temporary solution until the database with information from registration dossiers is ready towards the end of 2009.

In the list you can find:

  • the EC name, EC number and CAS number for substances listed in the European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances (EINECS).
  • the IUPAC name and the CAS number (if available) for dangerous substances (unless a request has been made to withhold it from the Internet).

The list is based on the complete registration dossiers submitted by companies to ECHA before 24 September 2009. It contains 156 substances. Not all substances for which a registration has been submitted could at this stage be included. ECHA will include in the database any of the substances concerned, as soon as its non-confidential character has been confirmed or a suitable name for publication is available.

Substances previously notified under Directive 67/548/EEC are not included in the list, but can be found in ESIS.
